New prop results, need suggestions

I have a new 351 with 300HP and a 1.23/1 ratio. Just got a new prop from acme it's a 1793 13.5x14.25. At wot I was doing 41mph at 4200rpm. Full tank of gas. 3 passengers 500lbs. Longblock rebuild has 10hrs on it. I did these tests after warm up and one 5min slalom run. At the end of day (2 hrs short day)I got 4250 at wot didn't have GPS mph hooked up but I assume it was 41-42mph. After the engine breaks all the way in will I get any more rpm out of her? If I were to try a different acme prop looking for suggestions as they would allow me to try a different model just gotta pay for shipping.

No, well probably that's all your going to get out of her with that prop you might free up 50-75 rpm once everything is seated. You want more rpm's? drop the diameter and/ or pitch down or ad some cupping to the prop, but I doubt cupping the existing prop will give you 400 rpm's. maybe an acme 13x13? I bet this 1793 pulls like a freight train on holeshot.

Have you checked the initial and advance timing, ensuring you are getting full advance somewhere in the neighborhood of 30-36 degrees, that alone could be holding you back some.

Do you still have that Acme 543 you were trying to sell? For giggles throw that one on there and see what happens.

Give Jim a call @ 1.888.661.ACME he will walk you through your situation. Tell him exactly what you said here. I dealt with him twice now (once with a Nautique) and mt present '98 Proatar 190. He NAILED it both times. Great guy.

The prop is cupped with the factory cup of .105, I was afraid of what would happen at wot with the 543. 4000rpm was 31-32 mph with that ratio 5000rpm is only 40. Engine builders did not recommend running it over 4600 Rpm.
