Both are great boats, both are built extremely well! It's a matter of style and opinion for which one you want! Malibu offers great warranties as well as MC.

Well had a Malibu skier that had a vibration issue from throwing a prop. Malibu tried 2 times to fix it, then after my dad not being happy, they crushed the boat and have him a 2 year newer 1 for free.

Buy what you like after you drive them.

I don't recall if it's been stated already, but which brand has a dealer close by and what is their reputation? For me the MC and BU dealer are only a half mile apart and both are very good, reputable dealers. My problem is that they are both nearly a 2 hour drive from the lake.

This hull structure stuff has been beat to death over on wakeworld. They're nearly identical. I'll go and try and find the thread over there.

not true whatsoever. Grid stringers vs longitudinal stringers, foam filled stringers vs hollow, deck/liner construction vs 3 piece, are all build differences. No qualitative assessment on any of those, research for yourself. i'm just calling an apple different from an orange.

Sounds like 2014 LSV will have deck/liner construction.

I know the thread of the construction you speak. In that thread it did show the 3 piece construction Malibu used/uses on some models. Keep in mind tho that those build process pics are even older that 2011. If we are talking hull quality and mold yes they are almost identical. Key word HULL. It's what happens after the mold that gives the different characteristics. Here's the link
http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=791945

The non molded deck construction had some benefits first and foremost being sound dampening. Malibu has swapped and used a combo molded deck. It is contemplating going full mold for 2014 as mentioned

My 10yr old surfing for the first time behind our 2010 X-15. Wave looks surf-able to me. Might not be a 23ft LSV but it works.
