I played bass in a few bands in my high school and college days. Jimmy Page was my idol back then but I didn't have the time or patience to learn to play 6 or 12 strings. I still have the old bass. It's a Gibson EB-3, circa 1967.

A few years ago, I started playing guitar, learning/playing mostly acoustic blues. Stuff like Mississippi John Hurt, Big Bill Broonzy... I'm having fun with it and own 5 guitars now. Not sure if I'll ever be good enough, or have enough nerve to play in public. Maybe I'll go play on a bench downtown and see how many quarters I can get in my hat.

I keep hearing...."On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air....."

I play guitar, acoustic mostly and play the same songs I learned in 1977, I truly suck

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she cant get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

Man, I thought there'd be a load of stage musicians on here. Btw, musicians are like water skiers: nobody sucks if they're having fun!

I don't know about that. I remember seeing a lot of bands that sucked and they seemed to be having a great time. One band seemed like they were all playing different songs.
