He agreed to do 200.00 down just to hold the boat. I have no doubt he could sell it for at least 18k. Nothing is is for sure until I go to pick up the boat. I can always back out and lose 200 if I find something else better.

You're coming off desperate as if this was the only boat on earth and that means you're going to get screwed or overpay.

Honestly, I can't even believe someone would do this. No offense.
No offense taken. If you can find me another 01 in July for 15k then I would be more then happy to jump on it.

$200 sounds good to me. It would be enough for me to risk it. I paid 50% before I went back a week later with the rest. Everything turned out good for me. Don't know if I would have waited months but for $200 I would. Good luck. Hope it all works out for you.

I have to ask though. Have you met in person and seen the boat. I'd take at least a hull ID pencil rub and make him sign some agreement hashed out in detail on basic terms and money deposited. In my case leaving $5k down I took the titles.

Low price, cheap deposit, and wait for two months before you find out you lost your money?

Sorry - that just seems like a scam. Set your Spidey senses on full tingle before doing anything else.
