circulating water pump lt1 10128327 question
I have a 95 with the lt1 engine and the 10128327 circulating water pump - not the raw water pump. I need to replace (or at least rebuild it). I am finding other lt1 pumps but would like to make sure the others would work. The above number is GM.
Marine parts wants 509 - too much. I see many that are automotive and much less. Any thoughts on whether or not I can't use automotive or how I can confirm if it has a different part number? |

A corvette automotive pump works fine. It has one more heater hose that you have to block off.

A water pump for a '92 Corvette will be the same, later years will have the heater port on the pump.

LT-1 water pump without heater out port: AC Delco 251-537 or GM 12529560
If you have a heater, you might use the pump with the heater port to improve the flow to the heater.

Thanks. Nice price $139 - ebay is showing exact same model at over $240. I don't have a heater now. Is that something I can add while I am doing this? Do I want to?
![]() Two more: 1. Do I replace the seal on the shaft? 2. I saw I should use sealant on the bottom bolts - any particular kind? |

Nice topic thread. Very informative - I hadn't seen that one yet.
I will stay away from heater. Why does everyone paint their parts with the black paint? Is that a protection thing or just for looks? Do I need to paint mine? |

I think everyone paints their parts black because that is what Indmar did. The water pump is aluminum, so paint will keep it from oxidizing, but no big deal. I got a little carried away when I painted mine and sanded the ridges and then clear coated it.
![]() You can also see the port I added for the heater.
