Pretty boat. You just have to be committed to what it will require to keep it pretty. The black shows every waterspot and you will want to keep the spots off or over time they will build up and not wipe off.

The colored vinyl is different than the carbon colors (white, platinum, silver). And the darker colors definitely get hotter. They look fantastic. We just can't do them here in Texas. 😢😢

The ZFT4 tower is fantastic, but I can see how the heftier ZFT5 would look nice on a heftier X star.

We have ordered an over the tower cover. Of all the great things mastercraft does, the cover are NOT great IMO. So we got one from skiboatcovers.com based on lots of TT members positive feedback.

Congrats on the boat.

When looking at the MC sponsored riders xstars (zane, rusty, nicola) , most of them do not have the power tower. Harley's is the only I've seen with it. Not even the PWT boat has the power tower. There's gotta be some reason behind that.
The power tower used to be like a 5k upgrade in 2012 but in 2013 I think it jumped up to like 11k or something like that. It's a shame because that's the best tower option MC has.

Is the zft4 tower with z5 bimini, both down, covered with the over-tower boat cover?

Update - boat is now a 2014 model, my dealer has a production slot to complete by the end of July/early August. Still undecided on colors, share some current gen xstar pics if you have them (other than what's in other posts on this site).

There's an issue with the available graphics colors from MC on the 2014 xstar. Only black and silver satin as of today. sup with that? May have to throw some colored gel in what I was previously hoping would be an all black hull.

One more thing, she is currently spec'd with the 7.4L Ilmor, does anyone here have any experience with that engine? I'm sure it'll be enough, even with several thousand lbs of water, but wondering if anyone has driven that engine and can share some insight.

I cant remember a time where I stepped on the top cap of my boat. Maybe some arms will draw the' ouch thats hot' comments but the all black look will be worth it.

Also, ive had a black boat for the past 4 yrs, and no issues with waterspots. All it takes is regular waxing amd a chamois after every use.
