Wrong....

Car insurance SHOULD cover it, as an extension of the vehicle. I mangled a garage door 2 seasons ago with a boat tower and state farm cut me a check for $650

hmm, let's wait and see. when you say a extension of the vehicle that applys to liability. in order for liability to exist in this situation the owner of the vehicle would have to be negligent.

come on, he was negligent!!.

You should have seen that rock coming. I say it was a failure to reduce speed to avoid the incident due to his attention being diverted to watching awesome lifted trucks drive by. Simple man mistake. Thus negligent.

If not we plead insanity.

Sorry about your glass, but the older boat windshields are almost impossible to find. Good thing your boat is newer.

I know a guy that spent $1300 for a side glass on his '93 190!

Really it gets that expensive? Man now I know why my installer was so freaked out about my windshield when he removed it during tower install etc etc. (it was damaged and needed tweeking)

Holy crap glass is expensive. I filed a claim with myboat insurance since my auto doesn't cover it.

Taylor made said they could replace the glass on that side but I would have to disassemble it and ship it to them to New York and on top of that cost they want $1200 ish to eplace it then ship it back then i have to reinstall it.

I called my local MC dealer and he gave me an estimate of $1900 ish to drop it off and them replace the entire windshield so everything matches and lines back up. I'm going this route because I would rather not have the risk of breaking it putting it back in. Also they said MC has 5 in stock so should be a short turn around.
