X5 Bilge Auto Setting ?

Hi Folks ,I have just bought a X5 ( 2003 ) and am having difficulty with the Bilge pump switch It goes on manual and it pumps out but as the decals have worn off I do not know what the other setting positions are
One is obviously off ( bottom or centre? )
The other is auto?? ( bottom or centre? )

However even with plenty of water in the Bilge neither of the other positions seems to pump out, so I am wondering if it has an auto (and a switch float ) . Wnen I look at the bilge pump I cannot see a big flipper float like I had on my old nautique, so is it switched differently or even have one ?
I am getting some water part way up the bottom of the sump when left for a week at the mooring and if i can leave it on auto it will stop it getting too high
Thanks Boyd

The auto setting should be on the far end of the manual setting. So it should be manual/off/auto.

You need to get in and look at the pump. Some pumps have the auto float built into the pumps while others have a separate float. Either way the float is not working.

The separate float pump system normally looks like this.

While the contained ones look like this.
