Plastic wrap or shrink wrap they put on pallets. Wrap the individual polls so there is no cleaning when you get it home. If not, its a lot of work getting it cleaned up. Bugs, bugs, bugs....

I know this is the wrong manufacturer of boat but you can see the tower is wrapped. This was before we drove it from Atlanta to Northeast Ohio.

Depends what you feel about the bugs/grime/etc.

Most of your boat hangs out behind your tow vehicle, the tower will hang out up in the air. Hate towers, but also hate polishing them (learned that working @ a marina) We would use tape on the front that way you can peel off the tape, and it only takes a few moments to run a strip up the exposed surfaces

Just made my first MC purchase, and pulled it 560 miles. All good advice above...but I did pull it with the cover on and the tower unwrapped (through Chicago with high winds). The cover was fine and the tower was clean. Just make sure the boat has 3 points of contact with the trailer. Good luck and congrats!

I would nix the plastic wrap. I did that once and it shredded the wrap. Came off in tiny pieces. Took forever. I still find shards of that stuff. Worst idea ever.

No it wasn't saran wrap.

i like the tape idea. i tow with my cover. it's a 2 piece snap on. dealer i bought it from said to tow with it.

someday i'll be rich enough to afford a new boat where the tower can tuck below the cover for transport. until then, blue tape it is.

Be sure to check the tire pressure before heading out. Always best to air the tires to the max pressure the tire is rated for. Also check the DOT date code on the sidewall. Towing with tires older then five years old greatly increases the chance for tire problems. Check the spare tire air pressure too.
