Maybe they decided that the two little holes up front were enough. After all, if the can allow enough water in to sink a boat...

On the serious side, do the areas besides the bow seating (towards hull) have open access into the hull such that it would allow air flow?

Inside the ladder hatch are two vents (one on each side) for venting via a carrying tube to the engine compartment.
