Are anchor buddies advisable for cramped areas?
Just bought a box anchor and shore spike to keep from having to beach my boat during the occasional times we hit a hang out spot on the lakes. My question is I see that most advocate the use of an anchor buddy. My concern is how tight of an area are people using these successfully in?
There is a limited amount of space where we go and boats are usually with 5 feet of one another. If I use the anchor buddy and some wakes come ashore, can I expect the anchor buddy to hold steady during the chop or is the tension weak enough that the boat will shift to a point where if another vessel is just a few feet away we will hit? Thanks - Jason |

My experience is that the boat will shift as long as there is stretch in the anchor buddy. You could anchor so most of the stretch is gone, but that defeats the purpose as far as being able to have your boat moored away from shore but still be able to pull it in when you want to board.

Thanks! Sounds like it might not be right for my app.
