Brooksfarm... now I am totally confused by your comments. I broke mine down just like Onewheat above... but then just unbolted the 6 screws each side... to totally remove what Onewheat has resting on his deck area.

Brooksfarm here is my boat

I was referring to Jerseydaves comment about unbolting the rear supports completely and folding the entire tower forward ....not a good idea IMHO.

Brooks... got ya.. I don't see that either being a good idea.. mine is much heavier than my 01 X10 Tower.
The first pic u can kinda see how far the speakers stick to the back.

Wow, I guess I learned something....that you have to split the tower on an X-star to fold it down. Seems strange that those front hinges are only there so you can fold the forward tower legs, then the rest goes backwards.

Breaking the tower down was not as intuitive as I had thought....

My XStar was about an inch too tall to make it into storage cave. Didn't have a clue how the tower "articulates" down but made a quick call to Williams Bros (Table Rock) and had them walk me thru it over the phone.

I didn't unplug any wiring harnesses to my tower speakers b/c didn't feel they were tight when laying rear legs down. Speakers worked fine when i raised tower this spring - maybe lucky?

Had Williams Bros make me new tower pads, so checked that one off my list

As you can semi see my pic above I have to much can to the back so they hit well before the tower. Since the speakers are not on a clamp to the tower they want swivel or twist have uou.
So I am reworking the whole setup. I have new Wetsounds anyways but thought I would try these out first. It almost looks like they could have designed another breakdown point to get it lower than windshield
