Sane as mine sept I have terra grapplers and not the trail grapplers. I also took the circle things off the outside rim, long story but I didn't like them.

We run Transforce HT on the F350. Its on a road 90% of the time and never in mud.
I have customers that are running the Transforce AT and like them for a more aggressive tread but still nice on the road.
I personally like the Dueller AT revo II tires in that size. Every set I've sold the customers really like them. I ran the previous version of that tire on my 1/2 ton chevy and loved them.

Not sure if it was the weight of my rig or the age of the tire or just the elements of being outside in the weather but at 3/4 tread left (From 2008) they have cracks all the way around the tire (F250 SD 4x4 CC D. = Wisconsin; run year round but not a lot - primarily for towing the boat and car trailer)

Tires less than 5 years old should not have any cracks wherever they are in the country. How long did you have these tires on the truck?

Yeah, firestone only warranties against cracks like that for 4 years.
We have seen those from several different truck tire makers.
Our tire engineer that worked for General for a long time told us that the small cracks won't be a problem. If they get bigger or join up to form a line then you should look at replacements.
Its unfortunate but the sun / ozone really eat at the rubber!

The tires were on the truck for 5 years this spring. They were going to pro-rate them (give me 50% back towards a new set because they had 50% tread (by their measurement) left but I didnt have or should I say I didnt want to spend the money last fall due to other expenses)....mind you I think I had 25,000 miles on them and the tread still looked fantastic.

My enclosed trailer tires are the same age, conditions (they sit next to each other in the driveway!), and subject to more abuse but didnt crack at all (yet)

I did just get bigger Nitto Terra Grapplers... 295/70/17.
