Sunshade Patio Covers? Any Input or Reviews?
Hi all,
I'm looking for a cover solution for my side yard, mostly to cover our small travel trailer since the boat is in the garage. We just finished installing a brick patio over there, and don't really want the traditional 10X20 white carport canopy. The area we need to cover tapers from about 14'8" to 15'6" over the distance of around 25'. The long term plan is to extend the eves on that side out and cover it, but that is a distant goal. Living in San Diego, so obviously no snow load, and maybe moderate winds every now and then. I'm thinking of something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Petras-Rectang...cr_s_cp_2_4M3M or http://www.amazon.com/MTN-OutdoorGea...ywords=sunsail We already have a cover for it, but hoping to minimize mostly summer sun exposure. This side of the house is north facing How long should I expect this to last? Any other suggestions? Thanks! |

Wanted to bump this thread for last minute ideas before I order the sunshade. I was bored so I laid out a quick sketch of the area. Any more ideas? The house next door is going on the market soon (grossly overpriced I might add) and I want this to be an existing condition for when the new neighbors move in. So any other advice on something that looks decent and provides relief from the California sun would be great.

I actually thought about that one although I really do not need it to be retractable. I'm just trying to further minimize the damage of the sun. I think I'm going to order the sun sail and see what happens.

Thought I would further update this thread. First brick patio install, so please be nice
![]() Then cleared the area, and prepped the surface for some freecycled bricks Laid the brick area, and installed a 12' gate Had a new AC unit installed, and ready to sand the gaps. Previous owners stole the central AC I bought a 12x24' sunshade rectangle square patio cover, and am planning on installing that soon. I'd love to hear any tips or advice |
