I'm explaining to my wife that we need a cheetah, it makes perfect sense to me now, all is clear. Thanks for every ones help. I think I am going to try and make a carbon fiber vent now.

I think I would do billet aluminum.

If you were talented with a router to get the radiused edges, black UHMW polyethylene would look close to original.

Tell your wife these people have a pet cheetah. No reason you can't have one.

You could take your old vent to a machine shop and have a new one made. A small shop may give you a good deal. Post a pic when it's completed.

If you do talk your wife into letting you get a cheetah, just remember rule #1: Never poke him with a stick. They forgot rule #2: Make sure your window works.
