I have the larger motor box cover on my 91' 240sc.
My concern is if the two piece wood design is tough enough when people step on it.

I know its not "supposed" to happen but it does and too frequently when the party gets going so I might as well plan for it.

Would I be better either fiberglassing my broken original or using this as a base and glassing over it?

I dont think you would tear up a 3/4" solid oak piece that has been sealed and epoxied with 3,000# epoxy glue and screwed together with 2" stainless screws. I didn't build a flimsey piece of crap. This cup holder will hold a person stepping up onto the engine cover no problem. Actually I can see the engine box cracking or breaking before the piece I built. Now I probably would not recommend the 500# person on the engine cover anyway but I'm sure my piece would not break in half. .

Maybe it's time to machine this out of a single piece of billet aluminum....

People frown at $300 and a custom build. They think its so cool but don't want to pay. Now if I did billet price would be even higher. It would also get hot and then when someone uses it as a step for the engine box, they will burn their foot.

It's loose loose for me lol.

So far it's Rat cup only, phntmski cup and dash, Double D cup, me cup only and that's it.

I guess not everyone can be rockstars or roll gangsta lol.

I'm in the process of building phntmski setup now. It will be charcoal carbon with candy coat. More pics coming soon.

I wasn't really serious about the billet, hence the roll eyes and smileys.
