3/9/2013 Update: Siding is done and we are getting stoned!
I can now say that the siding is complete and we are getting stoned......literally! The mason's came back yesterday to start putting the stone on the foundation and it is all coming together.
As for the interior, we cleaned-up all of the drywall dust and got the master bath, master bedroom and closet as well as the upstairs bedrooms and bath all primed. We will finish priming the rest of the rooms today and then move on to paint Sunday. With the colored primer, it is really cool seeing the walls come to life.......even for a colorblind guy like me! |

They place it on the foundation then they will mortar in-between the joints. This same stone will go up the chimney both out side and inside the greatroom. The specific name of the stone is Dutch Quality Stone. Last edited by jkski; 03-12-2013 at 06:22 AM. |

3/12/13: We have paint on the walls!
We started priming the walls on Friday afternoon and as of Saturday night, every wall except 1 accent wall and the front greatroom wall had colored primer on them. We decided to take Sunday off as truthfully, it was nearly 60 degrees around here and it was a great day to play outside with my son, Josh so we spent the better part of the day chasing him around the local park (the kids is fast and agile.....or maybe I am just that slow!)
Got back at it Monday morning starting at 6:30am and got home last night at 7:30pm but managed to get the final paint coat on every room except the kitchen, greatroom and half bath. We have had a lot of family members wanting to help, so those areas will be left for them on Saturday while I move on to other projects. The trim and all of the interior doors arrive on Wednesday, so we get to start painting and staining all of that as well but I would anticipate having it done by the end of the weekend! I will get some pics of the rooms with color on the walls later today. |

Been following the post since it started. Really like the stone as well on the foundation. Great touch. Best of luck...I'm jealous!

Nice progress. Beware the free painting help. I had help on my first house that I built and it was a disaster. Never again.

3/15/2013: Paint is pretty much done, now time for trim.
The trim was all delivered yesterday just as I finished putting the final coat on the accent wall in the kitchen, so today starts trim painting and staining!!! Got the shower area all built and yesterday and with the help of Mgboyd, got the hardibacker down in the upstairs bath and master bath, so they are now ready for tile! It was a long day so I will get some more pics today.
