X45 Ballast

Just got a new X45 and need some advice on adding additional ballast. Dealer told me that they are waiting on new software to be able to plum directly in so I'll be filling with a pump until that happens? Any suggestions?

Also - don't want to take up a lot of my storage space but was thinking about putting a ballast bag in my rear locker. What size would fit?

Sampson,

I've got a 500lb cube in each of my rear lockers plumped directly into the overflow of the stock port/starboard tanks in my '06 X45. Given your comment about the software, I'm not sure you would be able to do the same, but it works great. I did the work myself and it only took a couple of hours (bought the supplies from waterskis.com)

If you jump on our site you can see the surf wake it throws (scroll to the bottom), and the wakeboarding wake is huge... more than us old guys need.

Feel free to shoot me an email if I can help answer any other questions!

Do you know what dimensions of the lockers are by chance? Thinking of going with an 1100# bag if it will fit. That in addition to the std ballast should be pretty good I would think. Not sure how long it will take to fill with Tsunami pump though.

Not sure of the exact dimensions, but my 500# bags stuff each locker full when filled - there isn't room for anything else.

I just recently upgraded to the plug and play system and love it. I have 2 750lbs sacs one in each locker then they offer 2 more i think 400lbs in the front but after trial and error we have found that if you start at the front and have 3 400lb sacs running to the rear your wake will be huge! it is awesome and then for surfing it gets ridiculous.

I have a 2005 x45 and have been talking with wakemakers and they are telling me to use the 1100# in the rear lockers and then 2 500-600# bags under the front seats of the bow.
