A couple questions...

What grit sand paper do you recommend to sand the fiberglass?

Would "3M/1 gal. Bondo-Hair long strand fiberglass reinforced filler" from Autozone be a sufficient product to use to attach the board to the fiberglass?

Try 80 grit or courser. Just enough to scar an otherwise smooth surface to get a good bond.
Anything with fiberglass strand has some structural integrity and good adherence unlike a plain body filler. And, mix in a polyester resin 50/50. Don't forget the catalyst.
If its the hull surface use intermediate blocks and not the board/panel direct.

Alright bringing this up from the dead. As the wetsounds amps accumulate, I'm running out of places for them to go in the 25. Thoughts??? Wetsounds syn2/HT1 and future SD4 need a place to go along with the stock 600/6..

Are you guys screwing these straight into the fiberglass? That SD6 is MASSIVE. Ideally I'd like to have the same set up as zachdaddy.

Mine is bolted through...big washers, SS bolts, and nylon locks. And yea, Zach's setup is pretty sweet. I can't even imagine, mine is stupid loud.

The SD6 is in the fiberglass with 1/2 stain steel screws...the sub amps are on a carpeted piece of mdf thats 1/2 inch thick. Its built up on one end and flush on the other to make it plum.

I too worried about the other side but no problems with the fiberglass thickness

What do you mean bolted through????

I'll have 2 JL 10W3v3's in a ported box, the 4 JL tower speakers have a wetsounds syn 2 on them, and the 4 in boats have a 600/6 JL on them.

Future plan will be 4 rev 10s with an SD 4 running them!

That section of the boat is double wall. It's got a large panel sandwiched between layers of the fiberglass in the top deck to allow mounting amps. You don't need to pre-drill the holes imo. Regular sheet metal screws self-tap just fine.
