Thanks. I added the retractable tie downs last year. Initially there wasn't enough room to get the hooks through between the platform and transom. I would just remove the platform pins and slide the platform up about an inch and there would be enough room for the tie downs to clear. Later in the summer the screws holding the platform to the bracket ripped out while taking big rollers watching a wakeboard tournament. When I repaired the platform by filling the holes with marine epoxy, I drilled the holes about 1/4" further in. That gave me enough room for the hooks to make it through.

Thanks, I have my platform brackets off now to re-finish the teak and am deciding whether I will use a soft strap like I use on my dirtbikes to drop through the platform or move the bracket holes a touch-I like the idea of a little more clearance betweeen the boat and the platform I think...

Another option I was considering before the screws ripped out of the platform was to just sand down a little of the platform to give the tie down hook room to clear. The hooks were very close to making it through. There was enough room up top, but not on the bottom. I think the problem was the way the transom slopes and the back of the platform is vertical. If you just sanded a little off the bottom of the back of the platform, the hooks would clear. The would be almost completely unnoticeable.

My X2 has the fiberglass platform. I have retractable tiedowns and they go between the hull and platform no problem. Obviously clearance for a teak platform is different.

Amazing looking boat! I'm shocked that mc has discountinued the 205v, x1. I honestly think that weighted correctly it can be a great surf boat as well as eveything else. I surfed almost every x series model last year excluding the star and the x1 made the nicest wave. having said that, the x1 owner i was with was a wizard with ballast. he choose the x1 because he feels the pickle forks are tougher to sink for surfing? Regardless, i love your boat!
