Has anyone raised the driver's seat up?
I always have people complain that they can not see when driving my Xstar. I keep it weighted pretty rear bias and the boat naturally has a lot of bow rise when planing off. I never thought too much about it until I sat in a 2013 Star and realized how high the drivers seat sits. I am now thinking about raising my seat a few inches.
The bottom of the seat bracket is bolted down with 8 bolts into the fiberglass, so I am thinking about basically making a spacer to lift it up. Has anyone done this before? My only real worry is the added stress on the bolts, but I am sure I can find a way to make it work. If it works out well I bet I know a short curly haired guy that would be interested in doing the same thing. |
