Adding Tracking Fins to a 2012

Dont the fins mount to a flat spot on the hull - what I mean is the hull has been shaped (flatten out) to accept the installation of fins (including reinforcement).

I am curious? Why do you need/want to add tracking fins to your X-45? Are you having the rear end of your boat skip or hop during your skiing or boarding sets? I would think the X-45 would be heavy enough to hold it's rear in the water -- especially if you had water in the sacs.....

I am looking to improve the handling. When wake boarding and cutting way out and hard it can pull the boat over to that side and you have to correct with the wheel. I think if I have fins this will be lessened. Also, when maneuvering it seems like all the boats I've steered under load, that they turn (corner) better with fins (more like they are on rails). Maybe this is my imagination. I was also thinking that slower speed maneuvers may be better???

fins will not help in the pitching of the boat from side to side you'll need a keel for that

DO you have the hydraulic steering? My X45 Tracks pretty straight without fins. My buddy has a Malibu LSV with fins and he comments all the time about how mine doesnt pull when I cut out like his. I have driven his and noticed the difference when a rider cuts out wide. I dont see why your dealer couldnt add the fins.

I have the hydraulic steering and mine tracks very straight and doesn't pull at all in the turns. I don't see the need for the fins but without the hydraulic steering it may help a bit and given the price of them would be a good investment. Good luck with your decision.
