Being curious, I did a little research and found out that the federal government sets the guidelines for what can and cannot be purchased with food stamps or an EBT card. The cashier was supposed to scan the doughnuts and the computer would either accept or deny the purchase. You would think that if Michelle Obama was so concerned about childhood obesity, she would fix the food stamp program so that junk food couldn’t be purchased.
