MasterCraft Decal on Bimini Cover
Hey guys. Getting ready to order some sunbrella material and have my bimini cover remade/replaced. I would really like to still have the MasterCraft across the middle like the original, but have never seen anything suitable. I know embroidery is definitely and option, but this appears to be an iron on decal of sorts, and I would expect that it would not get as dirty as a white embroidery. Plus getting the font correct is always a challenge.
Any thoughts? |

I would think that would be silk-screened. You can get that done by most embroidery shops, but not sure how well it would hold up. Some research is probably in order.

that artwork is available in the appearance thread under decal set
http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ad.php?t=51858 there's a bunch of illustrator files there you can use. The artwork on your current pick is a silk screened ink...I believe from what I see.

That makes sense. If the original above was silk screen it actually held up pretty well in comparison with the faded fabric.
mikeg, thanks for the info on that piece. Now I have something to work from on this. |

Not sure how well it would hold up compared to silk screening, but most sign places have a vinyl cutter and heat transfer vinyl. Makes doing a one off like this much easier. I've done a bunch of t-shirts, but nothing that was going to sit out in the sun all day long to know how well the vinyl is going to stick to the sunbrella.

The plastisol ink really holds up well...vinyl will not holdup well in the sun like that. Where are you located lawler - I am in this business and may be able to steer you in the right direction.

Leave it without the MasterCraft. I hate how MC plastered their name on all the canvas of my boat. I've gotten rid of all the MasterCraft on the canvas, except for the boat cover. That is going to need to wear out before it gets replaced.

I am in Grand Blanc, Michigan near Flint. I want to get it right. Especially since I'm spending the money on sunbrella. Appreciate all the help!!
