I made exactly the same considerations. For me it was a little bit more difficult since I need to be able to tow an x star

Yep thats the next project. I have read a bit on here about a 3 step system with coats of oil and sanding in between. It looks like its going to soak up the oil like a sponge at this point

Very nice! I had to bring my platform back to life last year. It will definitely soak up the oil like a sponge!
