It's ESPN. You can't really take what they say literal. Its all about the SEC in College football and when it comes to Hockey, Bettman's poster child Cindy Criesby is always at front. Wings are going to have some challenges. Lidstrom left some skates that can never be filled, but i believe we will make the playoffs but the run might be short. Howard was playing amazing last year. And you can not count out the Wings Offense. With the way Z and Brunner were playing together should get some things going not to mention Datsyuk in the Mix along with Dirty Bert, Helm, and Filppula. And lets not forget that unlike other teams, the Wings have cap space, so i would not be surprised to see a beneficial trade coming up soon.

i agree completely.

im just simply saying, sportscenter canada lives off of hockey and should have the best "nhl analysts" around.

they've had the whole lockout to think about things and all they could honestly come up with is:

1. crosby/malkin top scores.

2. wings no playoff run.

3. kings and pens in the final. (ex stanley cup winners vs. crosby/malkin) who came up with this? a 15 year old?

Being born and raised in Calgary I have to always back the Flames. BUT....I'm so sick of the millionaires and billionaires whining about money and contracts that I couldn't really care less if the NHL completely folded. The caliber of hockey and "drive" of the players is much more evident if you look at other hockey leagues!

Wings had 77, or so, years to win their Cups. Several of the Cups coming where there were only 6 teams in the NHL. Give the Preds another 60 yrs.

You are seriously delusional. Very few teams have the cap space that the Wings currently have. They will find better ways to spend 100M then to drop it on one player.

And you neglected to address my post that stated the Wings have as many Cups in the last ten years as the Preds have playoff series wins. That's a fair comparison, especially considering you state that you will match their record over the last nine years to anyones.

Oh yeah, match the records up. I bet its not what you think it is....

Wings - 448-195-89 = 991 points, 110/season average. No seasons under 100 points.
Preds - 385-260-82 = 863 points, 95/season average. Five seasons under 100 points (that's right, 5 of 9 seasons under 100 points).


Come back with a rebuttal when your teams "luck" changes in the playoffs.

This puts the Preds 5th overall since 2000. I feel that is very respectable for a team that entered the league in 1998. Head to head with the Wings - I feel (no research yet) the Preds have won the matchups the last few years, and knocked you out of the playoffs last season
Montreal has won more Cups by far - does this make them a better team now?

I only counted Cups since 2000. Making the Preds eligible for all the same hardware that the Wings have won. How many times has Nashville won the Central Division? Answer: None. How many times has Detriot. Answer: 8 of last 10.

Detroit has also won Presidents Trophy 4 times since 02.
