I as well wanted to go with the black pad with the light blue mastercraft logo but they strongly recommended against it. I told the lady that I live in the NW where it doesn't get hot but about 4 months of the year. I also said that the boat was stored inside out of the weather when not being used. She then seemed to think it would be fine. Her main concern with the black was for boats that sat out in the sun most of the year in hot environments like Florida or Texas that would end up fading rather quickly. I said screw it and went with the black and light blue anyway. It looks awesome, and it turned out great. It took about 4 weeks or so after I sent the outline kit back in, which is required, and then taken off the price for the actual pad. (kit was like $15). Go for it, you won't be disappointed. If my boat sits for a time outside like in front of house for example, I just cover the pad with a towel to reduce UV exposure. MCOCD!

SeaDeck
The SeaDeck product is great, but I would tend to follow their advice. We started with Storm Gray over Orange, looked great to start (see pic), then faded significantly. They did replace it (storm over black pic - they steered us away from black over storm), and then eliminated orange from their line. If you get a bright color, be sure to ask them what you can seal it with to reduce fading.
After having the pad both ways, we actually prefer the Storm over Black - who woulda thought that would be the case on an orange metal flake boat. Keep ridin' ! Day1 Wake BTW: if anyone is interested in a brand new custom Day1 swimstep pad, we do have one in stock - it's Bimini Blue over Storm Gray (pic below). Shoot me a message if interested. How did you submitt your custom graphic? Can it be done on line, or do you send the instructions to Seadeck, then they send you a proof?

Best to give them a call. I already had art in the proper file format that I emailed them. They scaled it to fit, sent a couple mock-ups, and we went with one of them. Honestly, it was much easier than we anticipated.
