Trailer fender grip tape restore

Morning MC lovers, I'm looking for some advice on how to remove the grip tape from my trailer fenders. I was thinking acetone but I don't know if that would harm the fender. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Happy Saturday!

Acetone should be okay to clean up... if fender never painted... use a heat gun sparingly and the glue will soften and then a wooden spatula.

Replacing the tape is the hard part. There was a thread about making some, but I don't think it ever got any traction. mikeg205, any ideas?

As long as they are gel coated fenders, I hit them with my hot water pressure cleaner and they lifted straight off. I think it was Methylated spirits to remove the glue residue. Haven't replaced mine, just keeping as a white guard for simplicity and stops people standing on the guard too much. You can still see the Mastercraft logo on the guard even after trying to buff out so really needs sanding back to get it perfect. Have fun
