I would be curious to see how this would have gone if the chevy was in 4x4. Even then it would have only been a 2 wheel drive. 1 front and 1 back
So 2 wheel drive vs all wheel drive The VW has a lower center of gravity The power numbers are so close percentage wise, that I doubt it would have much of an influence The truck would probably start wheel hopping in 4x4 and possibly break something

The V10 TDI Toureg is a beast, but more than anything, I think it comes down to the knobbly off road tires on the Chevy. No traction, no joy.

That is a limited slip rear end in yours. not a locker. The latest version I think...a 2012 maybe 2011 has a locker that kicks in once the rear starts to slip.
That video is on Youtube as well and I swear I hear the guy say that he is locking it in 4wd at the beginning and that is why they are rolling forward. I then hear a snap once he starts to spin. I could be wrong though.
