Boring out a prop?

I've been keeping an eye out for a spare prop for my 88 Powerslot. I've seen on the local craigslist a number of 1" bore props, but not too many of the 1 1/8". Anyone know if it's possible to have a 1" bored out to fit the 1 1/8" shaft? I know it's a tapered fit, but I have a friend who runs a machine shop who might be able to help out. I'm just trying to see if I can open up my options.
