firstly my thanks to my wingman, gmantrix......... well done brother - glad to have you on my back..........
East has been asked............. No real reason ......... we are annually in and out of Nevada and we are in East Australia........ Down Under?????? dont have an issue with down under.......... Thats where we are.......... Melbourne Australia The car........... NO not a Ford Falcon nor a Ford Exploder A 2012 Ford Territory............ It is a 7 seat SUV and comes in either a rear wheel drive or constant 4 wheel drive It has two engine variants being a 2.7 litre, 6 cylinder Diesel or a 4litre Petrol. The petrol version does not have an awd variant onlt rwd. Both have a 6 speed auto. Towing capacity on the petrol and rwd diesel variant is 2300kg or 2700kg for the all wheel drive diesel variant. It is around 2ton – 18inch wheels Ours is the diesel variant and it flys............ the diesel engine used is the Ford Duratorq engine which has been used in Jaguars, Range Rovers (going back to Fords connection withthem a few years back) Towing the boat, it sits on 100klm per hour (60mph) and you would not know the boat is on the back....... This car won Car of the Year for 2011 – 2012. link about the Territory http://www.ford.com.au/suv/territory Yes the car does look small but I guess this is exaggerated by the boat sitting so high on the trailer............ Our market here does not supply the trucks you have in the US. The “big” trucks are imported by specialist motor companies from dealers in the US and right hand drive conversions are done here. Ford have just released a new Ute, Ranger, based on the Mazda BT50 - that is getting up in size a little The number of big "trucks" on the road is insignificant...........Prices are astronomical......................to say the least hence why the numbers are insignificant......... a 2010 F150 upwards of $ 90,000......... Hope this answers the questions........ And thanks for the compliments on the boat..... Last edited by hbomb; 12-18-2012 at 08:46 PM. |

Hmmm.sorry, my bad...i hunted for a few minutes and found what looked like identical tail lights on a flacon wagon. One thing to note, it seems like the safety standards down under are a little different. For example, a Rav4 in Australia is rated for towing capacity with trailer brakes (3500 lbs 4cyl) and without (1500, NA limit for a 4cyl) . Might explain why they tow with what looks like a smaller vehicle. I wonder if, by standard, manufacturers put more transmission cooling and more beefed up capacity due to the warmer weather and terrain in Australia?

Buy stock in Toyo. I just put open country M/Ts on it for the winter. Ironically, i think it was a mistake. The stock BFG all terrains are terrible in snow. I thought the toyos would be better, but, not so much. I am going to stick with them though.
