I appreciate all the responses. I've kind of been able to confirm what I thought. I had been looking around at early 90s Prostar 190s. I am not very heavy, about 170ish so I dont necessarily need a huge amount of power or top end speed. The kind of barefooting I am talking about doing is just having some fun on a boom. I will not be doing any kind of competition barefooting. Thanks again for the advice.

I have the best of both, '05 X-star and '93 prostar LT-1 Limited.
You should be able to find a 91-94 prostar for $10-12K. '91-'94 slalom wakes are considered one of the best out there. Try to get one with the 285 hp Ford motor, or LT-1. Also, don't rule out '84-'86 Mastercrafts. They are great classics with nice slalom wakes, light hulls so footing would be great too.

Just to be devil's advocate, as great as MasterCrafts are, they aren't the best footin' boat around. SkiPro made some barefoot-specific boats that were used in a lot of tournaments, have a built-in boom, plenty of speed and power.
I just happen to have one for sale... ![]() |

Jerseydave, what kind of top end speed do you get with your LT1. I just found a 94 prostar 190 with the LT1. The owner is claiming 47mph. I feel like that might be a bold claim. What are your thoughts?
