What Work did you do on your Mastercraft Today?

Well it was windy and rough today, but I did put it in the water and run it around in the bay outside the harbor just to check if I had solved last week's problem. A spark plug lead had popped off (I didn't know that at the time) and it sounded like the trans was lightly knocking in gear. That noise is gone now Always nice to know it's not busted after all!

The seats are all removed to be repaired.. cleaned out all the grim and gunk getting it ready for some 3M 5200

Anyways, put boat/trailer up on blocks yesterday. Won't come off of them until the spring when I'm ready to start my projects

Hey guys,

Just a friendly piece of advice. Yesterday I changed the oil in my PS190 and did not realize that the old oil filter gasket did not come off with the removal of the filter. I put the new filter on an had an instant leak. Got some oil in the bilge and on the driveway - not really a big deal but I didn't really want something like that to happen. My point is, make sure the old oil filter gasket has been removed prior to installing the new oil filter or you may be in for a surprise.

Good catch, and thanks for bringing this up. That used to be more of a problem years ago. I still always look, but haven't seen or heard of it happening in a long time. Could turn into a problem if one just changed the oil and took it out for the day.

What did you use to clean the bilge? Mine looks like the grease and oil gods threw up in it.

Standard procedure is to fill the bilge with hot soapy water with the plug in and take her out for a drive and let the motion help out with the cleaning. I had to do that a couple times when I got my boat as the previous owner had apparently changed oil by draining it all into the bilge and wiping up most of it.

Ditto. I find that laundry detergent works pretty well for cutting the oil. S

Yea thats how I normally do it but thats super clean
