5.7 Litre Vortec MX Plus

Can anyone tell me if my 1998 350 C.I.D Vortec 5.7 Litre MX Plus is an Indmar conversion? The exhaust manifolds say Mastercraft Power.
Also do I have the flat tappets or a roller cam?
Thanks

Well, I have an MX Plus in my boat, and it is certainly an Indmar conversion. I have no idea what the valve train looks like, and I hope to never have a need to look into it.

What information are you looking for?

I'm new to Mastercraft and most that I've seen say Indmar on the engine. Mine says Matercraft Power on the manifolds. So I thought I'd ask. As far as the roller cam goes, I saw that a pre 1998 had flat tappets vs. the rollers. Less wear as far as I know.

The MX is a throttle body injected Indmar conversion. It has Vortec heads, and the consensus is that it has a roller cam. I just winterized one this past weekend. Great, torquey, reliable engines.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.

Is there a way to confirm that?

+1 on what East TX says. I have a friend at Indmar - will ask and let you know.
