My wife and I bought this 1998 Marastar 225 Sport at the end of summer. Always had Prostars until now but needed more room. We absolutely love this boat. Lots of room, plenty of power (has the 340 HP LT-1 engine), and for a big boat it handles very good. It appears to be almost identical to yours. I'm sure you and your family will love it!

New to me 2004 230 VRS with X package. MCX ballast and tower...388 hours. truly looks like I bought it off a showroom floor. Detailed records from the owner on every tank of fuel, scheduled maintenance and a self written manual on the custom stereo he installed.

Do most of them have Ballast or do you add

I can tell u this - with no ballast and 4 people on board, u can surf but the sweet spot is about an inch long and just off the swim platform on our 98 VRS.

Today we rode 540 in each locker, an 700 in bow....I'm thinkin another 200~ lbs in front and it'll be perfect. Ill get a pic of the wake

I think this was with 500# in the port locker, none in the starboard. Two people in the bow. He can ride until we run out of lake. The swim deck interferes with the wake quite a bit - working on a solution to that this summer.
