I don't care what anyone says but it has to be the "accent!" How could you resist! From now on any time I get pulled over I am speaking with a French-Canadian accent! I may have some trouble covering up the thick Hill Billy Hoosier accent I currently posess!
 Back to the thread, My brothers childhood friend jumped often on the Scioto river in Columbus Ohio with the Daulton Gang! He ended up hitting the side of the jump and shattering his hip! Better now but a very dangerous sport!

Geoff went over 200' back in the day when very few did. The accident happened at SW Gold Coast. I think he was filming the stunt for a TV show. It called for him to jump an exploding pier. The stunt was set up for him and the boat pulling him to hit ramps at the same time. He got slack at the bottom of the ramp and launched himself out the front to try and clear the pier. He didn't make it.

Stumbled upon this hugely old thread just now. From what I heard Tex is right on. Seems that when a skier is pulling hard against a boat as it hits a ramp it tends to loose a little ground causing slack and a lack of pull.
Has anyone heard anything about his recovery since?
