When I used to work for Chris Craft boats, we shipped out a ton of diesel boats over to Europe. I had the opportunity to drive a couple and it takes some getting used to, as compared with the gas. That was a great find. BTW, how did you come upon this boat? Was it a flood damaged boat or stolen or what?
I like that sound too.I am thinking to open a off-shore mastercraft renovation shop .
I bought to boat without engine and wait to renovate until find a suitable engine. Then I find this STEYR and you see the result ,history of the The boat used as commercial water sports and very badly treated left in the sea and under the sun.Check the 1st thread.

I am looking for a V-Hull mastercraft or similar to make a new boat,PM ,if you know any.
