I got my first full pass at 31 mph, 15' off tonight, and then I did it again.

I havent skied since 7-18-12 bc I stepped on glass in the lake cutting my heal in 3 places. Chose not to go get stitches so I toughed it out the rest of the day making sure to keep out of the boat bc the bleeding would not stop. Walked around the island having cold beers for the last few hours and went home. SUPER GLUE is my way of sealing the cuts together on this one and worked like a champ. Took 2 weeks off to let it heal and last week I was able to start walking with 100% again. This week work has had me slammed and I just have not had time.

Hope everyone is doing well....

Ski On

Gotta find a course.... been free skiin' for awhile now...need to try a course...just for the fun of it... The closest I have is 36mph 22 of 1 buoy...okay okay...it was a float empty milk bottle marking the end of someone's water line up in Canada..on Long Bow Lake... I did cross from the opposite side of the wake and turn at the milk bottle...

Last week, I made a legitimate 32 off pass for like the 2nd time this year.
I was pretty satisfied with myself...

Friday night, had my best of the season. 5 @ 32 mph, 22' off. Ran it 4 times, made 5 twice, both passes had a horrific 5 and left myself no chance for 6.

For those reading that also do some coaching, do you recommend staying at 15 off and getting to max speed (for my age 34 mph), or is there value in shortening up the line and at the lower speed?

Speed up to 34 mph. Then start cutting rope. If you are using PP or zero off then put it in practice mode and run slow 34's.

I should ski 36 but ski 34. I may get out once a week if I'm lucky. Haven't skied since July 18th. I am more interested in drinking beer and sky skiing. But I've been there and done that and don't have the time to put in to run my -38 pass so I just have fun now. For me it's not about winning tournaments or even going to them anymore.

The key is to have fun. Who cares if your times are slow or not. Just enjoy the sport.

If you are wanting to ski tournaments then play by the rules. If not, enjoy being on the water.

Man if i had a buck for every ti me i got 5 @ 22 this year @ 32 mph and was running good right till that point and screwed it up... i feel your pain / dilema... my max is also 34.

I say do what u want - I have run 5 @ 22 and shortened the rope just to get a few 28 gates.

finally hit the course this weekend after just learning how to slalom this summer. Wow do I still have a lot to learn about this sport. I got 1.5 @ 15 off (28 mph) on Saturday and 2.5 @ 15 off (28 mph) on Sunday.

Hopefully I can keep improving every time out!
