Finally getting fixed
Ever since my boat started throwing tach codes a month ago have been waiting to get someone to the lake to do a on water diagnoses because they cant get it to throw the code in the shop. They are suppose to call me today to meet them to figure out what the hell is going on with my boat. Cross your fingers that they actually call me because if not I am headed with her to S&W Performance in Denver this weekend because if they dont get to me today the next chance is 2 weeks which is the near end of my season and S&W can get me in faster.

ok SO figured i would give and update. They cam and hooked up and it was still giving a "TAC" code. After some tinkering and general screwing around the mechanic found that if he unplugged the Throttle body it is throwing the same code as it is normally. SO This morning they are calling indmar to talk to them about the problem to see if that could truly be the problem. Anyone else had this problem.?

New update! Just got off of the phone with the mechanic which just got off the phone with INDMAR Indmar is suggesting a throttle position sensor and a TAC Module. He said parts are looking abouyt $650 plus labor hoping they dont rake me over the coals on that part of it. They are going to call me back with an exact estimate so cross your fingers for me guys.

$650 - doesn't sound too bad... the throttle in my car cost me $700 to replace...2001 Mercedes -Gas pedal position sensor wore out...

do something first before you spend all that money - turn off the battery switch for about 5-6 hours, dry the boat out completely, and reconnect the batteries. my boat was throwing TPS codes after the fuel pump died, but not throwing me back into limp mode. Talked to cincymc who said if the TPS was really going bad there's no way it wouldn't throw you into limp mode. tried that, and she's been healthy ever since (knock on teak)

"Limp mode", which is RPM reduction, ONLY happens when the engine overheats. A failed TPS will cause the ECM to default to 12% throttle position, only so the boat can be driven back to the dock and serviced. That's not "limp mode", where RPM is limited to 2000 and it toggles the injectors.
If your boat was throwing TPS codes, it had nothing to do with the fuel pump dying- they're completely separate circuits.

Oh ya i tried the reset a few times now. No luck there either. Jim, i just didn't know what else to call it. Limp mode is easier than typing, the boat went to 12% throttle position. I am going out to pick her up from the lake tonight and to drop it off at the mechanic tomorrow. They gave me a total estimate of $1,030 so that hurts a little but if it works it will be worth every cent. If not its time to move on to S&W in Colorado. Cross your fingers and D*cks for me.
Oh and yes i am getting fixed this winter. No more kiddos for me 1 and done i always say!

I know that the TPS is a only about $50, not sure about the TAC module, could be much more. I would ask for an itemization on that. I suspect your service will include a travel fee to get to the boat, $125-150 but both of these should be EASY to install. The TPS especially.
