Wetsounds Double Up Wiring Help - Temporary Setup

Please excuse my novice questions, car audio is not my specialty. Just purchased a Wetsounds double setup and a Polk PA500.4 amp, it was a package deal . . . . it looks like the amp is under powered to run the setup, but I am looking to just use it for the rest of the year. So my question is, should I run each speaker to each channel or can I run the pair of Pro 60's bridged and the pair of MB-8's bridged? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Here are the amp specs:

* 90 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (125 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)
* 250 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)
* 2-, 3-, or 4-channel output

You have a few options.
A) run each speaker per chnl and each receives 90W
B) wire each pair in series and bridged and each speaker still receives 90W. You will not be able to run that amp bridged with a pair wired in parallel.
C) get 2nd amp and run each amp in 2 chnl mode with one pair bridged on each amp
D) get a single amp that will adequately power the entire setup.

Hmm, maybe I should just buy the right amp . . . . wonder if the inboats can handle the 90w rms, stock JL 7.7's, 4 of them.

Any amp suggestions for the tower setup?

The Syn-6 is an ideal amp and the Syn-4 is still respectable power.

You could run the Pro-60's bridged on that Polk PA500.4 and then pick up another amp for the MB-8's. Either a 2 chnl stereo that would deliver 125-150W rms x 2 @ 4 ohm or a small 4 chnl that would deliver between 125-200W rms x 2 with a 4 ohm load bridged. Because these speakers are so different, I prefer to run them separate from each other. Not a fan of running them in parallel on a 2-chnl stereo amp.

Well I scored a ZED Leviathan II Amp - so now the question is, how much can the JL7.7's handle power wise . . . I guess I could run a dual amp set up.

So are you looking to drive the 4 in-boats and Double-up with this single amp? That Zed looks to deliver 150W rms X 6 @ 4 ohm. Thats perfect for the Double-Up. it will deliver 300W for each chnl @ 2 ohm, so thats 150W for each JL 7.7. I see no problem with that. Just make sure they, and the Double-Up, are set to "Hi-Pass" and you should be fine.

Well I guess i could use both amps, the ZED and Polk PA500.4 - I am open to suggestions, just looking to set it up the best way possible with the equipment I have.

Thanks,
Matt
