Southern Alabama Lakes
Might be moving down to southern Alabama and was wondering what the lake situation is like. I would be in the Dothan area. I know Lake Eufala isn't too far away. Anyone been on that lake?

If you can tell us where you might be moving to it would help.
Eufaula is a big lake to the only place that I am aware of people doing watersports is an area called White Oak. I have never ski'ed Eufaula, only fished years ago, but alot of people do watersports there.

Eufaula may be the closest there is also a lake in Florida but near teh Dothan area called Compass lake. I have never been to or ski'ed it but alot of folks in the Dothan area that I have met go there.
Also Lake Tholocco at Ft Rucker is nice during the middle of the week and in early morning/late evening on weekends. Tholocco requires that you go online to complete a boaters safety course and remember to have all your D.L., vehicle registration and insurance with you if you go. You don't need your boat reg or insurance just for the tow vehicle.

I am on Gantt Lake 5 miles north of Andalusia. Eufaula is nice but big. Gantt can get crowded on the weekend mid day....

I forgot about Gantt it has a really nice run up near the dam and like mentioned it can get crowded quick on weekends.

I've visited both Tholocco and Eufaula. I really enjoyed my stay at Tholocco even with the security.

Nice to hear Tholocco is decent. That will only be minutes from me. I was a little worried of it's size. For the days when I just have to get in a run, I think that will be the spot.
