Identify Missing Part, Please

While cleaning the boat this spring I threw away a retainer ring for my center cap.

Can anyone tell me a quick fix or the name of the part and where to get a new one? I thought maybe some stainless welding wire???

Okay, seriously folks? 104 views and not one comment? I am loosing faith. Not even one negative comment like you dumb xxx why did you throw it away?

Can some one at least measure theirs and tell me what diameter the wire is and if it is on the ID or OD of the center cap?

Okay thanks for the honesty. I was beginning to think this was a ghost thread.

It is from a '97 era Prostar if that helps narrow it down.

I am a long way from home and my local ace hardware but I seem to recall them carrying that type of spring in those slide out plastic drawers in the hardware section that nearly every ace has.. If they don't have it some industrial supply probably would. But you may be on a boondoggle.....but at least it will be to a hardware store/industrial supply and not the grocery store looking for creme fraiche,
