2009 XStar Ballast Pump Location?
I just got some green impellers for my XStar. Does anyone have instructions for installing them? and where the heck are the ballast pumps located?

on my '05 and '08 xstars they were mid-way up the transome just aft of the engine. two pumps have the impellor up and one pump has the impellor facing down. you may have to take one pump off the transome, flip it upside down, change the impellor, then re-attach it to the transome.

On an '09, the rears should be behind the carpeted kick panel, you have to remove 4 screws to pull out that panel, they will be mounted on the transom. The KGB pump will be on the port side locker closer to the tranny and the rear seat. You will probably need to remove the side kick panel.

How many of you have switched them so impeller side is down versus impeller side up. Is there really that big of a chance of water draining down into the pump housing?
