Put my ski rope handle thru the drivers mirror this morning... nobody hurt... just glass all over the boat ... Does this give me 7 years of bad luck???

Glad to hear no one was hurt! Just curious, were you using a shock tube? Some say this will prevent the recoil from reaching the driver area, some say it doesn't matter...tks, mac

I've seen a gauge smashed by a handle before.

A few weeks ago I had a buddy who was riding in the observer seat who covered his face and the handle hit him in the forarms instead of his face.

I've also been hit in the back while driving. I've learned to duck n cover well while driving as it took only 1 whack to teach me.

I never use a shock tube. The only tubes I can find are like 3' long. I would use one that is used in tournaments that are 12"-18" long. The 3' long ones just look stupid to me.

Yep...I was using a shock tube...I think we need to get the mythbusters to do some testing on this shock tube question.

Impressive! Glad no one was hurt. In time this will make for a good 35 dollar story. I have a few dents in my ski but no damage other than that. I too use a shock tube but not sure if it helps. The closest I have had my handle return to the boat is the platform.
