Bow Cover-Prostar 197
I am looking for a bow cover only for a Prostar 197. I am looking for a red one. Anybody have any ideas? I checked eBay and found nothing. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks, Kyle

Make a template out of cardboard and take it to a local upholstery or canvas shop. Tell them to put a seam around the edge and use either "Jockey Red" or "Logo Red" Sunbrella. You can do the snaps yourself.

Thanks ETS. If I can't find one as is I might go ahead with that idea.
Thanks again! Kyle

I did that for a walk through wind screen and it turned out great. Saw a stock one from MC a few months later and it was exactly the same, only mine didn't cost as much.

I bought a MC one off ebay for my 197 but haven't got the balls to install it myself...
They snaps are already on the cover but how do you go about marking the spots and then drilling the fibreglass eastie? How do you avoid spider cracks? The cover is just a simple pc of sunbrella. If I was to do it again I would probably just take it to a local canvas shop and have them do it......

No guarantees though. I have a permanent bow cover on my current boat. ![]()

I've noticed removing factory hardware the spider cracks.
I'm sure if caliper (or by eye, with bit shank held next to screw) is used to measure the body of screw first, then pick the correct bit, there will be less stress. Also using self tapping type will cut threads as it goes in. |
