raw water impeller x2
So I changed the impeller tonight getting the x2 ready for the season. A couple items of note.
1. I'll buy a drink for whoever figured out the paint can opener trick. Pure genius. 2. This was not fun. First time to really dig into a v drive .. coming from a direct drive where you pop the dog house and everything is right there easy access .. having only a few inches to work and doing it blind sucks. |

Same here with the WD40. Pull the lanyard, take off the pump cover plate, spray in liberal amount of WD40 and turn over the engine. The last couple times I've done this the impeller walked about a quarter of the way out itself.

Did my impeller yesterday with the WD 40 trick and it was a 5 minute EASY task.

The other thing I've read but not tried, is taking a zip tie to the new impeller and close down the impeller. Once started in then just side the zip tie off the impeller.
I switch to windex over WD40.
