I too have the Fly High. Solid pole and like the two cable design.

The Flite Pipe model I have mounts to brackets on the pylon so it sits a couple inches in front of it. No interference with the trick release. I believe they went out of business so you'd have to find a used one. Very stable and doesn't flop like the slide over ones I've seen in use.

Thanks fellas for all the info. I might have to rethink things here with these poles. I don't like the idea of cutting off bits of the tabs on the pylon. I'll have to take a look at that and see if it can be removed and then make a shorter one so the original is still around.
I'll have to see what some googling turns up on the flite pipe. sounds like an interesting design. |

Anyone know how much water we can run in with these old boats? I want to put a depth finder in mine and as I'm learning the lake I'll be on I'd like to know what parts of the lake get shallow and whatnot, but I don't want to hit bottom.

They draft less than two feet of water at rest. I'm sure you can run in three feet with no obstructions. All the lakes I run in are plenty deep, but there are lots of guys who are bound to chime in here about the shallow water they run in.

Yeah I'm not looking to run at 30mph through shallows, I'm just curious for when moving around close to shore and that sort of thing. Not really wanting to rip the fins off the boat or hitting the prop.
