2005 x-10 vinyl problem when boat is covered

I am having a hard time finding informationon this. On my 2005 x-10 the vinyl discolors to a dark brown red color on areaa where it is contact with the OEM cover. Ironically once the cover is off and in the sunlight, the staining goes away. Some of the local shops say it is due to mold, but I have a hard time believing it.
Has anyne have experience with this and what is the solution. It drives me crazy.

Not exactly sure what the actual cause of the problem is but I switched to a Sunbrella cover last year and the problem went away. I had a canvas shop sew in cover padding in all the contact points on my orginal cover which seemed resolve the problem but since the cover wasn't waterproof it tended to keep those areas damp. There's a strong following for that cover but I'm personally happier with the new Sunbrella cover I got from skiboatcovers.com.
