Thanks for the links. Unfortunately the retailers all show out of stock, and the Four Winns guy seems like a long shot (but am trying), so the quest continues. Anyone else?

I tried for months to find the oval replacement remote you are looking for. Everything I read, they were prone to failure anyway and not sealed really well which allowed water to get inside of them. I took mine apart and actually found mold on the internal components. They are also tall and some people complained about ripping the top off due to ropes grabbing them. There is a cross reference page on Clarion site about which remotes work with the different generations of Clarion head units. I purchased the two remote below, and ended up going with the non-display (all I use it for is for the mute and volume up and down)

My Clarion head unit is the factory installed XMD3. Boat is Maristar 210VRS (X-10)

1) Clarion CMRC2-BSS Watertight Black Face with Stainless Steel Bezel Marine Remote Control (without display, oval installation hole is like 2 1/4 inch hole, this one is 2 inch. I wrapped tape around the body to take up the extra 1/4 of space)

2) Clarion CMRC1-BSS Watertight Marine Remote Control with LCD Display (requires a larger hole than the oval remote, 3 inch I think, my oval remote was factory installed this remote being round would spread out up and down and with the curvature of the back of the boat wasn't sure it would lay flat)

If interested, I'll sell you the remote with the display for a good price. Amazon sells them for $125, I'll sell it for $75.

This is helpful-we basically have the same boat and I am concerned about the deck shape with a 3" remote as well. Will think about it and get back to you with an answer on the larger version, but I think I'll end up making the same decision you did.

FYI - Also, you will have to figure out how to make the hole larger for the display version. I figured I would have to use two hole cups, one inside the other to make it larger. 2 1/4 one for alignment and 3 inch for the actual cutting. They also recommended putting tape on the deck, and starting the cutting in reverse till you get below the gel coat.
