In the case of the line from your fuel pump to the carburetor, Coast Guard Regulations call for a hard fuel line or an approved braided stainless line. When I got my boat, it had a rubber fuel line to the carb as your does, which I replaced right away. I also replaced the fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump with Goodyear rubber fuel injection fuel line as mine was original and in tough shape. I see no advantage to using braided stainless here. The down side can be the braided stainless can wear through other parts.

I would have to agree with thatsmrmastercraft here.. It won't be difficult to remove that banjo fitting from the carb, install an inverted flare fitting there and on the fuel pump and bend a piece of steel fuel line to fit.. This would eliminate that freefloating fuel filter I see in pic so I would recommend a spin-on water seperating fuel filter before the pump....

Yes! I have been maintaining this boat for it's original owner for about 15 yrs. and last spring he said to "Get it ready for the season, I am either going to use it or sell it". Long story short, I gave him a price to prepare boat and he said "just do the minimum I am going to sell." Well I made an offer, he countered, we shook hands and it was mine...400hrs on motor all original except for elect. ign distributer which I had installed a few years ago....always garaged or under nice full cover...
